1. Food and water bowls with style

Pick reliable food and water bowls designed to stay in place, no matter how excited your pup gets. Whether you choose a basic bowl, a trendy design to match your kitchen, or a handmade option with your pup’s name, the options are endless. Consider adding a slow feeder to the mix. Fast eaters benefit from these, as it helps them slow down, reducing the risk of tummy troubles. For picky eaters, it turns mealtime into a fun challenge, making eating a bit more exciting. So many options, so much style!

2. The perfect harness

An adjustable harness is a must, so your pup doesn’t outgrow it too quickly. Harnesses are a safer choice for puppies than collars since they distribute pressure evenly and protect the neck. Perfect for curious little adventurers still figuring out how to stroll on a leash. Make sure the harness fits just right: not too tight, but snug enough that you can slip two fingers between it and your pup’s fur. A Y-shaped harness is the way to go; it keeps the shoulders free and lets your pup move comfortably. Pair it with a stylish leash, and you’re Insta-ready for your first walks!

3. Toys your pup will love

Toys are a must to keep your pup happy and challenged. Chew toys are perfect for soothing teething pains, soft plushies bring comfort, and interactive toys keep those clever Labradoodle brains sharp. Heads up: skip tug toys for now. Puppy teeth are delicate, and their necks aren’t strong enough for the strain yet. Stick with puppy-safe toys designed for their age, because fun and safety go paw in paw!

4. The ultimate Doodle must-have: the dog dryer

A dog dryer (yep, it’s a thing!) is a total game-changer for labraoodles. Their thick coats don’t just soak up water, they hold onto dirt and loose hair too. A dog dryer handles it all: dries them off after baths or rainy walks, blows out dirt, stops mats before they start and gets rid of loose fur. Start young and let your pup get used to it! Begin from a distance or just turn it on nearby so they get comfy with the noise. With a little patience, this will be a grooming must-have your dog won’t even blink at.

5. Brushes and combs

A good grooming set is a must for your Labradoodle’s coat. Start with a soft puppy brush or a comb with rolling pins. These glide smoothly, making brushing less stressful and helping your pup get used to the process. Around 5-6 months, switch to a slicker brush for tackling tangles and loose fur. Pair it with a comb with uneven teeth to find any leftover knots. If the comb doesn’t glide through the coat easily, it’s time to work on those tangles. Start early, stay consistent and grooming will be a breeze!

6. A safe space

A crate or puppy pen gives your pup a cozy place to rest or retreat when things get overwhelming. Crates are great for potty training and teaching your pup to be alone, while puppy pens offer more space for moving around safely.
Make it cozy with a soft blanket, a toy with the scent of the nest and some plushies. If you’re using a crate, make sure it’s big enough for your pup to lie down comfortably but not too spacious; pups feel safer in snug spaces.

7. Treats and snacks

Small training treats are a lifesaver for potty training and teaching those first commands. Choose treats your pup loves, but keep them small enough to eat quickly. Bonus: treats are also great for keeping those adorable puppy eyes happy.

8. On-the-go essentials

Taking your pup out and about? Stock up on poop bags, a well-fitting harness, and maybe even a puppy carrier for those early days when they can’t walk far. Don’t forget a water bottle with a built-in bowl to keep your pup hydrated on the go. Practical and perfect for adventures together!

9. Always safe and recognizable

An ID collar is perfect for keeping your pup’s tags on without weighing them down. Attach a name tag with their name and your phone number—better safe than sorry!
For extra peace of mind, consider adding an Apple AirTag or Tractive tracker to their collar. It’s a lifesaver for those moments when your pup decides to play hide-and-seek.

10. Safe and comfy car rides

A dog car seat is a must for safe travel. A car seat gives your pup a cozy, secure spot, helps with motion sickness and lets them enjoy the view. Bonus: it keeps your car cleaner after muddy walks or beach days. Safety and comfort in one!

With this shopping list, you’ll be totally ready to welcome your new Labradoodle pup. Let the adventures begin!
